which book to read after accepting christ!

I think the first book to read should be 1JOHN EPISTLE along with a gospel this will help the new born to know the essential facts about christian life.How to know to be sure u r saved?
how to live in this world,
what is from God and what is not,
differtiating the false teachers and their errors etc.
I think this will root them in the basics and then as they read the gospel they ll have a solid platform to take the plunge.
